Mussel Sampling in the Sipsey

Over two days at the end of September we sampled a 60 meter stretch of the Sipsey River to determine the abundance, density, and size distribution of mussels at this location. We had lots of help from ALDCNR and Weyerhauser to complete this sampling. We sampled 104 0.25m2 quadrats which resulted in us measuring 636 mussels that represented 25 species. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun!
