Atkinson lab represented at the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society Meeting in Cleveland3/31/2017 Both Carla and Brian made there way to Cleveland this past week to participate in the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society meeting. They both gave oral presentations at the meeting. It was a great experience networking with so many other people interested in mollusk research and conservation. Looking forward to Texas in 2019!

The objective of the workshop was to bring together researchers affiliated with each WaterSES site to advance project goals (http://pecswaterses.com/home). Carla was there to continue working with the site in Oklahoma on the Kiamichi River which is part of a major water conflict among Oklahoma, Texas, and Native American Nations. The workshop brought together researchers working across diverse sites (Spain, Idaho, South Africa) for a common goal of enhancing water sustainability for both people and nature. Hoping to continue the momentum and add an Alabama PECS site! |
