Atkinson receives Hynes Award

Dr. Atkinson will receive a prestigious award at the annual Society for Freshwater Science meeting next week in Milwaukee. This award is the Society for Freshwater Science's equivalent of ESA's Mercer award and goes to a promising young scientist for an excellent publication. Atkinson won the award for her paper: 

Atkinson, Carla L., Jeffrey F. Kelly and Caryn C. Vaughn. 2014. Tracing consumer-derived nitrogen in riverine foodwebs. Ecosystems 17:485-496.    

About the Award: The Hynes Award for New Investigators will be awarded to a benthic scientist who was senior author of an outstanding primary publication in benthic science that appeared in print in the last 3 years.
