Daniel Knapp and Monica Winebarger will be joining the lab next August! Daniel plans on conducting his master's research at the Jones Ecological Research Center on wetland-breeding amphibian communities. He has experience at the Jones Center and is already there working in the herpetology lab! Monica is finishing up her master's thesis at Appalachian State University and will be focusing on freshwater mussel community dynamics for her doctoral research. Looking forward to having them both at UA!

Undergraduate Creativity and Research Academy (UCRA) Conference was held on campus last week at the Ferguson Center. Three students (Anne Marie Green, Jane Kunberger, and Lauren Shouse) from the Atkinson lab presented their independent research projects at the conference. They all did an excellent job conveying their research and plan to continue finishing the analysis of their data to present at the Society for Freshwater Science Conference in June in Raleigh, NC. Jane's poster is in the final round and is being considered for placement. Good job to you all! |
